Surprise and congratulations to Araceli Zavala for the honor of being named the Riverside County Office of Education’s Confidential Employee of the Year!

Riverside Polytechnic High School teacher and Puente co-coordinator Lupe Avila was one of five California educators to receive the 2025 Carlston Outstanding Teacher of America Award, a distinction honoring exceptional public high school teachers who help students exceed academic expectations.

Eighty high school students from across the Riverside Unified School District (RUSD) contributed to the district’s annual Honors Musical production, with four performances of “Singin’ in the Rain” in less than 24 hours at the historic Riverside Fox Performing Arts Center on Jan. 14 and 15.

Martin Luther King High School senior Maximo Zavaleta has been named the IE Varsity Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year, serving as one of four RUSD runners to make the first or second team.
